Why use Satellite-based Communications?

During an emergency response, Incident Command and mobile responders need to remain fully functional to provide support in the field, and present a user-defined operating picture of an event to command-level coordinators regardless of the operational state of terrestrial-based communications infrastructure.  Agiosat embraces the concept that effective operational communications embodies two distinct approaches: proactive and reactive.  A proactive strategy maintains continuity of agency operations under any circumstance by establishing a satellite network overlay supplemental to any existing infrastructure prior to the occurance of an event.  A reactive strategy restores communications through the deployment of satellite links after an event occurs.
